in the region, many years ago. There is no motorable road leading to the caves
which can be accessed only through a 1 km trekking trail from Edakkal.
Wayanad
Wildlife Sanctuary
The Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary is an ideal place for nature lovers and wildlife
enthusiasts. The park, which houses a rich variety of flora and fauna, was declared
a wildlife reserve in 1973 with the objective of with the objective of preserving
the wildlife of the region.
This Wayanad Wildlife sanctuary is a shelter for lots of very rarebirds and
animals and a must to be visited by Wildlife lovers.
Mananthavady Kuruvadweep
It is an uninhibited island which makes an ideal getaway and picnic spot. The
island, spread in an area of 950 acres, offers picturesque views and an enchanting
variety of rare birds, orchids and herbs
Thirunelly Temple
Situated about 32 km from Manathavady, the temple is an excellent example of
the prowess of temple architects of ancient India. The shrine inside the temple
is protected by granite columns and the entire ground has been done in granite.
The papanasini river is a major attraction of the area.
Kanthanpara Waterfalls
The picturesque waterfalls in Kerala , situated about 6 km from Meppadi, is
a major tourist attraction of the area. The crystal clear water flowing down
from the top of the mountain present an exhilarating sight. The picturesque
Waterfalls in Kerala which is being surrounded by etiquette beauty makes the
area an ideal picnic spot.
